Internet Marketing Seminar Travel Season
And so it begins…”Internet Marketing Seminar Travel Season”.
For the next 5 months, I have trips scheduled every two weeks, then two months of holiday from work travel, then back on the road every other week from September to November.
But I’m not complaining. I love these trips for so many reason. I’ll be starting this week in LA, then Vegas later in January, followed by Orlando and Panama in February, and Underground 7 in Washington during the 1st week of March.
Oh, and speaking at the Fitness Business Summit in California on March 18-19th. If you’re a trainer, you’ll want to be at that one.
So yes, that’s a lot of flying, but I’ve got my routine down so that I’m still able to get a lot of work done while I travel.
In fact, one of the reasons I like traveling to seminars is that I remove myself from my strict daily schedule and allow myself to read and study new material.
When I hit the airport, I pick up the latest “Inc”, “Wired”, and “Fast Company” magazines. Plenty of inspirational stories in those magazines. I particularly love hearing about Silicon Valley companies like Facebook, etc., that are building massive empires and guys like Elon Musk (owner of Tesla) that are doing things differently.
Whether or not those companies are “good” is a different debate, but I always get ideas and a kick-in-the-butt from those magazines.
Plus, I read all of my Dan Kennedy No-BS newsletters that have piled up over the month. If I could only invest in one product every year, it would be Dan’s newsletters.
And finally, research has shown that simply putting yourself in a new environment stimulates the mind for creativity. From as soon as I get in the car going to the airport to the time I arrive at my hotel, I usually come up with a dozen new ideas for business.
If you’re like me, you probably also get a lot of ideas in the shower (this is universal, but I’ve never heard a full scientific explanation – is it the water or the fact we are just letting our minds wander?).
I also get a lot of ideas during my workouts…so take a notepad when you train.
The bottom line is that you’ll often get some of your best ideas in the weirdest places, so always be prepared to write those down.
And from those ideas that I get, I often get “full value” from these seminars before I even get there and learn the content or network with the other attendees. Those are just a few of the reasons that I’m often on the road. The investment in the seminar always brings a bigger return to my business.
Plus, now I have this blog and newsletter where I can share some of the info I learn while traveling, so you benefit too.
Anyways, the car is waiting outside to take me to the airport. And I’ll be bringing you tomorrow’s update from La-la-land.
Your task today…start taking notice of when you are most creative. Then do all you can to free up that time for you to work on your business. By doing this, you’ll be able to get 2-3 hours of work done in 30 minutes when you manage your mental energy.
Take control today,
Craig Ballantyne
