Important links you need on your site

Rick Porter, the SEO guru, and I are working on a new site called http://workoutmanuals.com/. It made us a few thousand bucks last week and we hope to have it up to 10,000 visits per day soon.

It’s all based on our unique abilities.

1) I create content (1000-1500 main articles plus 500-800 word assistance articles).

2) He crushes it with powerful links.

3) We get a ton of traffic, optins, and profit.

Hurray for the internet. There’s also another important strategy we are using that most people forget to use on their websites.

And that’s the…

Importance of interlinking between blog posts

Rick’s here today to explain why this is so important. BTW, there’s probably some SEO ‘guru’ out there charging $1000 for some course that explains what you’re about to get for nothing.

Hurray for not paying anything for awesome info.

How can Rick and I just give this stuff away?

Because we actually make money DOING stuff instead of just TEACHING stuff.

We are out there mining for gold and finding it, not just selling shovels to people who are trying to mine for gold.

Enjoy this real word advice…

Interlinking –By Rick Porter

Interlinking between blog posts actually helps Google read your blog and really know what it’s about.  To see the best example of a massively interlinked website just go to Wikipedia and read a few pages.  This is what Google is calling a “good user experience”.

There might be several keyphrases that you are reading in an article and you have no idea what they are, but a link takes you to an entire page or reference showing you what it is.  This works exceptionally well on niche blogs.

The other major advantage is that the links from your own website count as backlinks to your rankings.  A quick way to boost some of your rankings is to go into several existing posts and link your primary keyword back to the primary article you want to rank for.

There is a free plugin called SEO Smart Links, it also has a more robust paid version but the free version works well for smaller niche blogs.  Simple add rules to the plugin showing that for every keyword and where you want them to link to.  We have a similar plugin that has even more SEO bells and whistles called Auto Link Juicer.  I have been using this heavily on my sites and client sites.

Here is how it works on for example our Workoutmanuals.com site that we are building together.

We are already ranked on page 1 for ‘six pack abs’ – I’ll show you how we did it – here is a basic rule that you would use in SEO Smart Links or Auto Link Juicer

The keywords are first, followed by the URL.  It looks for the keywords listed first and then moves to the next ones if it can’t find those.

For example, we have a few blog posts that don’t mention the exact phrase ‘six pack abs’, however it may say ‘abs’ or ‘abs workout’ so if it finds one of those keywords it creates an automatic link with that keyword to the URL specified in the rule.

See below:

six pack abs,6 pack abs,six pack,6 pack,abs workout,sexy abs,abs,abdominals,http://workoutmanuals.com/six-pack-abs/

You can setup several of these rules for multiple keywords and multiple URLS.  Then just use your keywords naturally in your blog posts and the interlinking will happen automatically.

So all it took was one good 1000+ word SEO optimized article, some good backlinks, and a strong interlinking structure leading to this post to get ranked on page 1 for one of the most competitive fitness keywords there is.  Think how easy it would be with low competition long tail keywords that convert when using this strategy!

I applied this technique to one of my new client’s websites for his primary keyword and he was stunned to see himself on page 1 within 2 weeks for his keyword.

He already had a dozen articles that mentioned the keyword, I just made sure that those articles all linked back to his main article.

Then I built links to the entire set of articles so that they would help power up the main article.

The easiest way to get around building links to fast to your website is to build links to many of the different URLs and have those URLs link back to your primary keyword pages.

I’ll give you some fun stats on the type of mayhem I unleash on my own sites for the sake of SEO science.

In the last 4 weeks I’ve got my site http://increasetrafficrank.com sandboxed at least 4 times.

I did this by building about 3000 links in a couple days to just a couple of the URLs, and then made sure to get those links indexed so that Google actually counted them.

My site would DROP from the #1 ranking ‘increase traffic’ to about 900.

All my rankings would drop to somewhere around page 90, and then return within 4-5 days.  Around day 4 I usually start getting a little nervous but then everything is back to normal around day 5.  When I spread that same amount of links out to more URLs I typically don’t get sandboxed.

The site is only 1 1/2 years old but is showing 160,000 backlinks so I’ve beat it up pretty hard to see what a site can take.

When I spread the same amount of link building over a dozen or more URLs the sandbox doesn’t happen.  I haven’t determined yet what the exact number is to trigger these things but I can tell you it’s pretty darn high and not easy to get a site sandboxed from building links too fast.

You have probably heard of using forum profile blasts to build thousands of links in a few days to your website but those typically won’t get your website sandboxed because out of 2000 links built in 1 night Google will probably only find 1-2% of them after about a week so there really isn’t much of a risk.

That goes for almost all automation software, it’s really tough to build links too fast because only a time fraction will even be found and counted by Google.  I use a lot of different devices to get my links indexed but that’s another post on its own.

So in conclusion, if you want to drive rankings up fast you need to create a strong domain of interlinked articles, and then you can build backlinks at a faster pace because you can spread the links out between dozens of URLs in the site and each post helps to boost other posts and keywords.
