Burn 20 Calories Per Minute
I love/hate this piece of equipment.
It was something I used all the time back in the summers of 2007 and 2008. You see, back then I was spending a lot time out on the old farm hanging out with my dad while he was sick.
Almost every day we’d hop in my ol’ Nissan Maxima, with Bally the Dog in the back, and we’d head out for a long drive in the countryside. Dad would want to check out the cornfields or inspect a used piece of farm equipment that he might add to his collection.
In the morning, before our drive, I’d head out in the backyard (the scene of my infamous ‘shirts off’ photo used by GQ magazine and stolen by gyms all over the world) and I’d do a workout with this little piece of equipment that packs a mighty metabolic punch.
The workout wouldn’t take long.
It didn’t need to.
Research has shown that you can burn up to 20 calories per minute with this training method. You could burn off a Big Mac in 27 minutes – there’s NOTHING faster than that.
It’s the highest level of calorie burning you can get.
Heck, even when I do a rare sprint interval workout on the treadmill, the machine reads only 16 calories per minute (and remember that all cardio equipment is research proven to overestimate your calorie burn).
This 20 calories per minute study was performed by the independent American Council on Exercise. They have no reason to inflate the numbers.
And those numbers speak for themselves – as do my 6-pack abs – when it comes to how important it is to have this training method in your metabolic fat loss program.
The study – performed on men AND women – also found that this ONE workout method increased their abdominal core strength by a whopping 70%!
They didn’t do crunches, they didn’t do sit ups, they didn’t even do planks.
All they did was this one odd workout method.
