Easy Way To Get Testimonials
This is one of the most powerful success stories we have ever received.
“Craig, I want to tell you my story and how you helped me in a very difficult process and time in my life. I am a United Church of Canada minister by profession. One day I looked in the mirror and realized I was fat. There is no getting around it I was fat. I am only 5′ 6” and I had ballooned to nearly 200 pounds. I started biking and I got down to 175 pounds…
“Every night I would wake up thinking I was going to die. My wife left me and I was the talk of the town. The rumors about me were unbelievable.
“I was searching the internet and found you by accident. There was something about you I liked. You were Canadian, eh. Yet, I thought you had an honest face and I liked your own story. So, I bought your eBook Turbulence Trainer.
“I lost 27 pounds and now I am a healthy and fit 143-145 pounds. I am 47 and in the best shape ever. I feel fantastic. I use your workouts every week and I have progressed to be fit, stronger and healthier. Keep making your videos. I will be buying!
“By the way I do not wake up every night feeling if I am going to die. I got through my painful divorce. My daughter came to live with me. Your workouts are part of my life and faith journey. Thanks Craig for helping to save my mind, my body and soul. If there is anything I could ever do for you let me know. Keep up the great work! You are a success!” – Pastor Ewen
I didn’t ask for this one, but most of the time you have to ask. One of the best things I ever did for my fitness business was adding the Transformation Contest, because this required before-and-after photos.
But here’s good news if you don’t have a fitness business with contests.
This method makes me want to buy someone Mark Zuckerberg a beer.
We all owe him a beer.
When it comes to marketing our products, ol’ Zuck has made getting success stories, pictures, and social proof infinitely easier.
Back in 2006 it was like pulling teeth to get a testimonial, a quote, or heaven forbid, a photo, from someone.
Heck, I even had folks email me and change their mind about posting a simple quote on my site.
One guy made me go through all of my webpages to eliminate his name. He thought it would hurt his job search.
But Facebook changed all of that.
Now folks volunteer EVERYTHING.
Too much info, as some circumstances prove.
But for us, there might not be such a thing as too much info.
And there are never too many testimonials.
You MUST share your client success stories.
You must show REAL people getting real results.
That’s why P90X worked so well.
And frankly, that’s what gets me to buy marketing products – testimonials from others.
I remember considering a Dan Kennedy coaching program…but there were only 2-3 success stories…not enough to convince me. So I passed on it.
There’s no excuse not to load your site with proof.
It’s so easy to get.
We get a ton of it everyday on FB.
So hip-hip-hurray for Facebook.
Long Live Zuck!
Here are some success stories posted on the TT page within a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon, and we did NOT even ask for them.
In fact, this one great gal, goes the extra mile to help us out.
So get people posting and sharing proof and take it to your email audience and sales copy for the power of social proof,
Craig Ballantyne
