“Popcorn tastes good.” Reddit interim CEO Ellen Pao admitted yesterday: “We screwed up,” following Reddit moderators revolt over the weekend. The revolt started after key staffer Victoria Taylor – formerly in charge of Reddit’s Ask Me Anything subreddit – was fired. But, according to Slate this is not what the Reddit rebellion is really about. The real reason why Reddit moderators are rebelling goes much deeper. Citibank is working on its own digital currency. According to the International Business Times, Citigroup has built its own digital currency based on bitcoin and the blockchain. “While it’s noble for banks to attempt these systems – and they will be attempted again and again – it’s important to note that banks want control. As I wrote before banks are not afraid of cryptocurrencies, they’re just nervous.” (Tech Crunch).

NEW novel by Ayn Rand published today. For the first time in 58 years, a new novel by Ayn Rand, the best-selling author and libertarian philosopher who died in 1982, is being published today. (NYT). Atlas Shrugged one of Rand’s most popular literary works just recently dropped from the top 10 favorite books list. Oddly enough, Harry Potter sits at number three on the list and is considered millennials’s favorite book (yikes). One of the reasons why Rand’s novels have been so well received is because of her ability to effectively communicate great ideas.
