4-Minute Ab Blaster Workout

Here’s some good new for you. Every week one of the big fitness magazines reaches out to me for help. I get questions from Women’s Health, Prevention, Men’s Fitness, and even Details and Maxim magazines!

Last week Men’s Health needed some new ab exercises. But they rarely use all the secrets I share, so I get to give the extra ones to you! For example, here’s one cool tip that probably won’t make it into the magazine.

Most people waste their time on bicycle crunches when trying to work their obliques. You could do 500 of those and it wouldn’t change your body.

Instead, you need to try my 4-Minute Ab Blaster circuit (below) that includes Diagonal Ab Rollouts with either the ab wheel or a stability ball. Most people only use the ab roller to go forward and back. But with my unique technique, you’ll work more of your core and get better results.

Instead of going straight ahead, roll out on a diagonal path (about 30 degrees left or right of center). Keep your abs braced and core tight at all times. Go only as far as you can control, stretching the abs (this is what causes soreness), and then contract them as hard as possible to return to the start position.

Here’s even MORE great news for you. To show my appreciation to you for being a TT reader, and so you’re getting one of my 4-Minute Ab Workouts for free. Enjoy this ab blaster!

1A) Diagonal Ab Rollouts (alternating sides) – 60 seconds (2 seconds to roll out)
1B) Stability Ball or TRX Jackknife or Mountain Climber – 30 seconds
1C) Side Plank (with DB Lateral Raise if you want) – 30 seconds per side
1D) Cross-Body Mountain Climber (alternating sides) – 30 seconds
1E) Diagonal Ab Rollouts (alternating sides) – 60 seconds (2 seconds to roll out)

That’s it. You’ll have 4 minutes of ab fun. Core needs more? Do the circuit one more time for an 8-Minute Ab Blaster.

Now there’s just one catch… I don’t have videos of this workout. If you need follow-along ab exercise videos, go here.

Giving you all of my best secrets because I appreciate you,

PS – Guess who still has 6-pack abs at age 70?

…Bally!

He turns 10 in December (in human years), and I think that makes him a spry 70 years old in dog years.

And yes, it is TRUE, he still has six pack abs. And I’m not making this up!

A few years ago on a visit to the vet, the examining doctor said, “Wow, your dog has 6-pack abs!” And NO, she did not know that I was a personal trainer.

It was really strange.

But I love telling that story over and over and over again.

No wonder he likes going to the vet so much.

Hope that put a smile on your face. Smiling face (black and white)

And let these workouts put abs on your flat stomach

PPS – As I write this…

…he’s barking in his sleep. So funny. He must be chasing rabbits.

Good ol’ dog.
