Do you have a lack of motivation?

Do you ever have this feeling that you are capable of so much more? That you’re just on the edge of the bubble and you might be a little frustrated with the feeling like you’re on the outside looking in?

And yet you know that you’re so close to success, to a massive breakthrough, to the life that you desire and deserve, so close that you can taste it…

I feel like this from time to time.

That’s what high performers do. You and I are simply never satisfied. And there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s this drive and determination that sets us apart, that splits the best from the rest.

Today I want to cover…

  • How to be relentless in the face of any adversity
  • 3 of the inspirations in my life… and what you can learn from their struggles
  • How to get back on track when you’re feeling down
  • The 5 steps that saved my life… and will change yours forever
  • And why I believe in you and KNOW for a fact you can achieve your big goals & dreams

Here’s something that might surprise you.

Monday is my favorite day of the week.

Sure it’s go, go, go from start to finish. I have:

  • 5 meetings with the Team at Early To Rise, using the meeting structure we teach at ETR University
  • I have two coaching client calls
  • I have to write my 1500 words in the morning before walking ol’ Bally the Dog

But my favorite part of Monday is my email. Yep, I love email.

Every Monday I hear from dozens of my coaching clients as they send in their weekly accountability updates to me. In each weekly update, my clients have to answer 10 questions.

I read their answers, solve their problems, congratulate them on their big wins, and guide them to the next victory.

As you can imagine, the answers are up and down, topsy turvy, and all over topsy-turvy because no matter how well a business owner plans, we’re always riding the Entrepreneurial Roller Coaster.

Every high-achiever goes through ups and downs, and its my job to keep them on track, or get them back on track if it feels like the wheels are coming off.

So I hear everything, and I mean everything from my clients.

  • Marital problems
  • Health issues
  • Team members that quit unexpectedly or that have to be fired
  • Constant struggles with sales
  • Night time routines
  • Overcoming the addiction to work

I’m grateful for their openness and honesty. And I lead from the front by being vulnerable about my struggles and action steps to success, as well.

You can probably relate to the list of highs and lows.

You have probably struggled with some of the same problems as my clients. But who do you have to hear you out? Who is there to give you advice?

It makes life a lot tougher when you are going it alone.

A year ago I tried to do everything myself, and it all came crashing down on me when I had my anxiety attacks.

When it comes to stress and anxiety, that we must get out of our own heads.

When our wheels are turning and turning and turning, and we fear the future (whether personally or professionally), we become anxious.

With anxiety, the solution is to talk it out.

  • You can’t bottle your problems up inside.
  • You can’t sit around and feel sorry for yourself.

Instead, you must seek help, getting advice and accountability.

The first step is to set our ego aside, then work together with a coach to put the plan in place, do the work, and get back on track as fast as possible.

And when you do, you can rise up. That’s because at your core you are resilient, resourceful, and relentless. Because as high performers, we all know we are capable of so much more.

You are willing to challenge yourself and to push yourself to what you think is your limit, and then to go beyond. You never look back, you focus on forward progress every day.

That’s the High Performer Way.

  • Resilient
  • Resourceful
  • Relentless

I often say to my clients that Action Beats Anxiety. Motion beats meditation.

We can do what we think we are capable of and so much more.

Why?

Well, it’s not just because you are resilient, resourceful, and relentless, It’s also because…

I believe in you.

I’ve believed in you longer than I’ve known you because I’ve always known one thing; you’ve done it before and you’ll do it again. You’ve:

  • Lost weight
  • Quit drinking
  • Cheated death
  • Defeated disease
  • Climbed out of financial struggle
  • Overcome a broken heart
  • Met adversity head-on time after time

While it’s okay to be down in a dip from time to time. It’s just NOT okay to stay there.

You are full of greatness. You are here to make a massive impact. You are here to have significant influence. To be the ROCK for your family, friends, community, clients, readers, listeners, and viewers.

Here is what to do when obstacles come your way

First, take a big deep breath.

Second, understand that it’s OK. Every great person, and every normal person, feels stuck and mired in the mud from time to time.

Third, remember what Winston Churchill said: When you’re going through hell, keep going.

Because every successful person rises above. The KEY is to move forward every day, right?

How can you make this happen?

Through my 5 Pillars of Success.

Pillar #1 – Better Planning and Preparation Than EVER Before

If you wake up on New Year’s Day and say you want to lose 10 pounds, that’s not a plan. That’s a wish. We need to do more than just dare to dream. We need to sit down and prepare a plan in great detail.

We can’t just say I want to climb Mt. Everest, we have to put a plan in place that will take us to the promised land and that’s why you need …

Pillar #2 – Professional Accountability (your coach)

Research shows that when you’re accountable to a professional, you get better results. Professional accountability means having a coach.

A coach has been there and done that, and builds the plan with you. A coach gives you expert advice and holds your feet to the fire, never letting you away with excuses.

That might mean having difficult conversations, but those tough talks lead to great results and lifelong transformation.

Pillar #3 – Positive Social Support (your cheerleaders in life)

You need to surround yourself with positive people, who are going to pick you up when you’re feeling down. These are the cheerleaders in your life, like the people along the side of the road cheering you on as you run a marathon.

You’re going to have dips in your days and tough times, and being surrounded with like-minded positive people to live you up is key. They will keep you going when you want to quit.

Pillar #4 – A Meaningful Incentive

It’s not money or stuff that truly inspires us to change. Instead, it’s only those things that truly matter and come from our heart and our mind that will keep us going through tough times. In most cases that means doing it for somebody else that we love. What’s your meaningful incentive? What is your big WHY?

Pillar #5 – The BIG Deadline

This is the most important pillar of them all because it spurs us to action, helps us overcome the initial inertia, keeps us going through the tough times, shows us a light at the end of the tunnel, and brings that finish line into the light so that we move faster and faster towards the deadline. The deadline keeps us going through it all.

Now it’s your turn.

Focus on the positives, the ACTION, the attitude, the results, and keep the virtuous cycle going and growing. That is the strong, powerful LIGHT that will STOP darkness from creeping back into your life.

When you focus on always moving forward, you get closer to living the life of your dreams – on your own terms – and reaching your full potential every day.

So today is the perfect day to start again.

I give you permission to forget the past, to ignore the peer pressure that wants you to continue down the slippery slope, and to overcome the self-doubt that leaves you wondering, “Can I really do this?” You can. Trust me. I believe in you. I believe in you. I believe in you.

Join me, and believe in you too.
